There are some plumbing problems that you can fix alone without hiring a plumber so long as you have the right tools. Below are some plumbing tools you can consider buying as a plumber or homeowner.

Sink Auger

If you are a homeowner, you must have experienced problems with your sink. The most common problem with sinks is that they clog due to the high accumulation of waste. A sink auger is a weapon meant to break up the sink and clear the clogs.

It consists of a stainless steel cable that is flexible and has a corkscrew tip at the end. The cable is coiled within a drum canister. When you insert the cable into the drain and turn the handle, the drum rotates, enabling the cable to penetrate even bends to reach the clogs and pull them out. This tool should not only be owned by plumbers but even homeowners. You can experience the problem at any time, and it will stop your activities from going on. If you have the tool, you can rectify the problem on your own without even hiring a plumber.

Toilet Auger

You would probably not want to use your sink auger for toilets. A toilet auger is used to clear clogs in toilets. I have a long metal rod with a bend that can penetrate the hole at the bottom of the toilet bowl. A rubber sleeve covers the bend to protect the porcelain from being scratched. It is good to own this tool as a plumber or a homeowner to help you find a solution whenever your toilet clogs. All day plumbing can also guide you on how it is used.

Plumber’s Tape

A plumbing tape is a material used to prevent leaks at plumbing connections. It is a white tape used to wrap around threads on pipes before twisting the parts together. It helps in sealing the joints to prevent leakages and also ads lubricant. Every plumber is required to own this tool.

Cup Plunger

This is a tool that every plumber or home is advised to have. It is the most common plumbing tool available in most homes. It has a rubber cup and a wooden handle. It is commonly used in showers, sinks, and tubs. It is not recommended for clearing toilet clogs. Toilet clogs require a plunger with a unique shape.

Channel-Type Pliers

It is a tool that enables you to grip pipes or other plumbing parts of almost the same size. It has long hands to facilitate squeezing and twisting.

Conclusion
